Silicon Graphics has posted a fourth quarter loss of US$69 million — in line with estimates — on revenues of $431.5 million. The tech company, best known for its powerful workstations and displays, also announced that it will be laying off another 1,500 employees, or 25 percent of its workforce, in an effort to reach profitability. Earlier this year, the company laid off 1,000 workers. Silicon Graphics is a shadow of its former self — the company’s valuation is down 99 percent from its high in 1995.
