Peripheral maker Logitech, best known for its mice and trackballs, today posted a US$6.3 million first quarter profit, up from the $5 million it posted in the year-ago quarter. Analysts had been expecting earnings to decline. Sales for the quarter also bucked the PC industry trend, rising 26 percent to $177.9 million.
