FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Troi Automatisering releases Troi Dialog Plug-in 2.1 for FileMaker 5.5
Dynamic dialog functions now also available for FileMaker 5.5 and Mac OS X!
Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands, May 29th, 2001–Troi Automatisering
today announced the immediate availability of its Troi Dialog Plug-in 2.1,
for FileMaker Pro 5.5 for Mac OS, Mac OS X and Windows.
What is the Troi Dialog Plug-in?
The Troi Dialog Plug-in is a very powerful tool for displaying real dialogs
in FileMaker Pro. The text of the dialog and also the buttons can be
created dynamically by using a calculation. All from within FileMaker you
– show dialogs with variable text and up to 4 buttons
– show temporary flash screens
– show a progress bar for lengthy operations
– let a user input text through a dialog
– show a list dialog
– add a standard icon or your own icons
– set the text for the dialog title bar
Peter Baanen, company president, states: “We are working hard to adapt all
Troi Plug-ins for FileMaker 5.5. I’m proud to announce the Dialog plug-in
as the next Troi plug-in being FileMaker 5.5 and Mac OS X ready, especially
since we have been able to sneak in some new features and improvements
while we were at it. And today is my birthday too!”
“If you’re looking to produce a professional-looking solution using
FileMaker, then this dialog box plug-in is a must-have”, Richard Dyce,
The Troi Dialog Plug-in 2.1 adds these new functions and features:
– Tested with FileMaker 5.5 and made compatible for Mac OS X. The Mac
OS version of the plug-in is now a so called ‘Super Fat’ plug-in that
will run on Mac OS 8, 9 and Mac OS X.
– Set the title bar of the dialog to any text you want.
– Improved “Version” function. It can retrieve the version number of
the plug-in. This allows you to check which version is running, so
you’ll know if certain functionality is available.
– Show the Flash Dialog from a script. This makes checking the
registration state for end-users easier.
– Updated the user guide, with expanded description on Progress bar dialogs.
– Fixed a few bugs too.
Together with the existing functions the possibilities are virtually
limitless. We invite you to test drive the new functions and see what you
can do with it!
– Give your users better and flexible feedback.
– Show quick instructions without the user having to dismiss the
dialog every time.
– Build multi-language systems more easily.
– Make your solutions look more professional by using your own icons
and title bars in dialogs.
