FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Automated Solutions Group Announces QuickCode Pro v4.1 Release

Huntington Beach, CA – August 17, 2000: Automated Solutions Group today
announced the release of QuickCode Pro 4.1 for the Macintosh, the popular
assistant editor for 4th Dimension. QCP 4.1, can be downloaded from
http://www.asgsoft.com.

QuickCode Pro (QCP) dramatically enhances the 4th Dimension method editor
with a host of features designed to simplify and accelerate the process of
writing 4D code.

What’s new in QuickCode Pro 4.1
Bug fixes
– The wicked crashing bugs relating to the Macro dialog and the Load/Save
dialogs that were plaguing us all have been exorcised and hopefully will
remain nothing more than a fading memory.

Changes/enhancements
4D6.7 Compatibility
– Compatibility with 4D 6.7 is now available.

Load/Save Tool
– If you are using QCP with a version of 4D prior to 6.5.5, the Navigation
Services dialogs will not be available for loading and saving macros,
methods, etc. You will only have the old-style, modal Get File and Put
Filedialogs.
– Added Command-Option-L for Load, Command-Option-S for Save.

Search Tool
– When performing a Replace All across all open methods, you are asked to
confirm the action.

Miscellaneous
– When using QCP with 4D version 6.5.5+, 4DOs windows will properly update
in the background when QCP dialogs are moved around. – A handy keyboard
equivalent chart has been included in PDF format.

Important Announcement
We have been working closely with 4D, Inc. to provide tighter integration
between QCP and 4D. Among others, a special hook was added to version 6.5.5
of 4D which allows QCP to integrate directly into 4Ds event loop, instead
of seizing control as it does in versions prior to 6.5.5.

To ensure maximum stability and flexibility, as well as to facilitate the
move to Windows, future versions of QCP will require this hook and thus
will run only on 4D 6.5.5 or better.

If you are using 4D version 6.5.x, it is strongly recommended that you use
version 6.5.5 or better. If you are using version 6.0, it is strongly
recommended that you upgrade to 6.5.5 or 6.7 in the not too distant future.
There are a host of reasons besides QCP to do so, not to mention the fact
that beginning with the release of 4D version 6.7, versions prior to 6.5
will no longer be officially supported.

Reporting bugs, suggestions, etc.
ASG has recently put all of its bug tracking into a web-based system. If
you have a bug to report or a suggestion to make, please go to
