Switzerland–August 14, 2000–Blue Line Studios today announced the release
of WebsiteCompressor 2.0.6 for Macintosh.
Bug Fixes include:
– The app runs a test to check if each selected file contains HTML code;
some HTML documents would not be properly recognized. This has been fixed.
– The demo version now allows to set preferences, as some settings are crucial.
– CSS scripts will now be properly recognized and will no longer be
reformatted, or deleted if within HTML comments.
– Some minor speed improvements.
WebsiteCompressor is the successor to WebsiteDietician. Please note that
the latter is permanently discontinued. The download URL

WebsiteCompressor is a tool to streamline HTML code generated by
WYSIWYG-HTML editors. Most programs add lots of characters to format or
comment HTML code they generate. These unnecessary data, although ignored
by the browsers, easily adds up. WebsiteCompressor will analyze the code
and carefully remove superfluous chars, usually reducing the files up to
The app features also image converting/recompressing capabilities,
including batch converting of image files from various formats to JPEG.
