Whistle Blower beta 3 is now ready.

Whistle Blower can perform regular checks of your servers and perform
various actions upon discovering that one is not responding. Whistle Blower
can email you or your pager. Whistle Blower can launch any AppleScript,
application or document upon failure and can also restart any socket of any
connected powerkey unit.

The third public beta adds support for 4D servers and Radius authentication
servers. Task actions can now be dependant on another tasks status. For
example it is not necessary to restart your webserver if it is the router
that is actually down and causing the error. Tasks can be set not to check
during a shift so that you can schedule your server downtime, backups or
reboots without generating an alert. See the web page or readMe file for a
complete list of new features and bug fixes.

Whistle Blower currently supports checking the following server types:
* Web Servers. (Whistle Blower can also send post form arguments
and validate the server return to check for proper functioning
of CGI applications)
* AppleShare IP Servers
* DNS Servers
* Filemaker Pro Servers
* First Class Servers
* 4D
* FTP Servers
* Generic TCP listeners
* Hotline Servers
* IMAP Servers
* LDAP Servers
* News Servers
* POP3 Servers
* QuickTime Streaming Servers
* Radius Authentication Servers (PPC Version Only)
* Retrospect Backup Servers
* SMTP Servers
* Telnet Servers

Whistle Blower features web based administration. You can check on the
status of your servers, control the powerkeys attached to your system and
run any of the scripts in your scripts folder from anywhere.

Whistle Blower requires at least a 68030 Mac running 7.5.5 or later with
OpenTransport, but a PPC and 7.6 or later is recommended. Whistle Blower is
fully OS9 compatible and will be carbon compatible by the time Apple ships
OSX Client.

Whistle Blower will cost $90 USD.

Whistle Blower is currently in public beta testing. To download the beta
