Kodak Contributes to Java 2D API

Developers who use Sun’s next release of the Java Development Kit (JDK 1.2)
can add powerful imaging capabilities to applications, using technology
contributed by Eastman Kodak Company.

Kodak and Sun demonstrated a new imaging architecture — part of the Java
2D API — at Sun’s JavaOne Worldwide Developer Conference recently.

The innovative software architecture adds a new imaging capability within
the Java programming environment that developers can use to give end-users
more functionality and control over continuous tone images, with little
programming effort. Developers can use the architecture to deliver many of
the benefits of FlashPix technology — including images that burst on
screen, powerful zooms and non-destructive edits to images.
