IpSoft has introduced Chord Dictionary 1.0 for OS X. It’s a music app that provides instant reverse chord lookup from a guitar fretboard.

Unlike most chord dictionaries, which allow the user to select a chord and view the correct fingerings on the fretboard, the app allows users to create their own chord and then lookup its name. A reference tool for musicians of any level of expertise, Chord Dictionary is designed to help you figure out chord names just from notes and intervals and covers all 22 frets.

Chord Dictionary requires Mac OS X 10.6 or later and costs US$2.99. It’s available worldwide exclusively through the Mac App Store in the Reference category.
