Panic developer Steven Frank has released WebDesktop 2.2, a small update to his handy application that layers a fully-functional Web browser over your Mac OS X desktop. WebDesktop utilizes WebKit, Apple’s HTML rendering engine from Safari, so Web pages should appear exactly as they do in Safari, including advanced features such as animated GIFs, CSS and Flash. The software also offers optional periodic refreshing for news pages and other sites that update frequently. Version 2.2 adds French localization.
