Griffin Technology today released a software update for its RadioSHARK desktop AM-FM Radio with time-shift recording. The RadioSHARK allows users to listen to and record their favorite AM or FM radio broadcasts. It allows the recording of scheduled radio events or as a way of ‘pausing’ live radio.

Wall Street Journal tech guru Walt Mossberg has posted his review of the radioShark from Griffin Technology. “Overall, we found the radioShark to be a good idea, but it lacks some of TiVo’s smart features,” Mossberg writes. “Because it doesn’t have program schedules like TiVo does, you can’t look through a list of upcoming radio shows to learn what will be on when, what specific song will be played, or which talk-radio topic will be discussed. Also, radioShark can’t determine where a song or program ends and another begins…

Griffin Technology today announced it has begun shipping the radioSHARK, its desktop AM-FM radio with time-shift and Internet recording capabilities. The radioSHARK allows users to listen to and record their favorite AM or FM radio broadcasts. It also allows the recording of scheduled radio events or as a way of “pausing” live radio, giving users the ability to return where they left off moments, or even hours later. The radioSHARK sells for US$69.99 and is available from Griffin’s online store or from the Apple Store.
