Panic seeking beta testers for upcoming projects

Panic is currently looking for “able-bodied, creative and disturbingly-thorough” beta testers for a few upcoming projects. Desktastic 3.0 adds Wacom tablet support, more

Panic today released Desktastic 3.0, a new version of its “Li’l App” that lets users draw directly on their Mac OS X desktop. Desktastic 3.0 adds a number of features, including Wacom tablet support for pressure sensitivity and erasing, auto-saving of drawings on quit, the ability to print drawings, configurable toolbar positioning, and a “Drawing Layer” preference that lets users tuck their drawings out of the way underneath the Desktop icons if desired. Panic at Macworld Expo

After a three year absence, Panic is returning to Macworld Expo next week. The company will have a limited supply of free “Panicdisc” CD-ROM’s to hand out, which will contain all of their software demos, along with tons of extra CandyBar icons and Audion faces. The CD-ROM is also the only way to obtain a copy of B360, the company’s never-released 1982 arcade game, which is now ported to Mac OS X.

Transmit 2.2 adds Rendezvous support

Panic today released Transmit 2.2, a free update to its popular FTP client for Mac OS X. Version 2.2 adds support for Apple’s Rendezvous technology via a pop-up menu that automatically lists all Rendezvous-capable local FTP servers. The update also includes an optional “Edit in BBEdit” button to toolbars, a new preference to manually set ASCII file extensions, lets a user automatically connect to a server on launch, fixes a potential problem with high idle CPU usage, adds Spanish localization, and fixes several bugs, many regarding SFTP.

Panic seeking users for Transmit 2 beta test

The folks over at Panic let us know that they are inviting users to test the beta version of Transmit 2, the next major update to its popular FTP client application. “We want to test Transmit 2 with a variety of FTP servers. And we want to make sure our improvements meet the needs of anyone who does a lot (or a little!) of FTP,” said Cabel Sasser, co-founder of Panic.
