Apple announces ‘Present Your Passion’ winners

Apple has announced the winners of its “Present Your Passion” contest, which sought original Keynote presentations from users on the things they love most. The Grand Prize went to Meg Spoto for “Making Meg’s Cards.” 1st Place was awarded to Cathy Carter for “This Is Holy land,” while 2nd Place went to David Joyce for “Pennies.” Apple also posted six honorable mention entries. Apple releases Keynote update

Apple has released Keynote 1.1.1, the latest version of its popular presentation software. The new update improves stability and includes several user experience enhancements including a preference to control cube and flip transition clipping individually, according to Apple. Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later is required with version 1.1.1 of Keynote. The 31MB download is currently only available via the Mac OS X Software Update preference pane.

Apple today confirmed the problems that some customers are experiencing with Keynote, its new presentation software, reports c|net. “Apple has identified a bug in the driver software for certain ATI graphics chips which can affect a small number of systems when used with Keynote,” the company said. “Apple is working on an updated driver which should be available to customers shortly.” Read More

Steve Jobs to kick off Macworld San Francisco with keynote address

IDG World Expo today announced that Apple CEO Steve Jobs will once again deliver the opening keynote address at Macworld Conference and Expo/San Francisco on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at 9:00 AM PT. Macworld Conference and Expo will take place January 6-10, 2003 at The Moscone Center in San Francisco. Apple has not yet released plans to stream the event via QuickTime or broadcast via satellite.
