To celebrate the recent opening of Apple’s Fifth Avenue store, our colleagues over at The Joy of Tech are holding a caption contest. The comic’s image features a depiction of an Apple store being unearthed on the Moon (a la the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey). Prizes include Mac-themed headgear and propeller beanies, and Garlic Head BBQ Sauce. The contest ends Thursday May 25th, at noon Pacific Time, with the winners being announced Friday the 26th.

Our friends and colleagues at The Joy of Tech have published a new comic celebrating Apple’s 30th birthday tomorrow. Since it seems as if Apple isn’t going to celebrate their 30th birthday with a special event, Snaggy and Nitrozac figured they’d just have to release something special themselves.

The Joy of Tech and Memention.com have teamed up and created a new iTunes plugin. “Jumping Steve” is an iTunes visualizer featuring a Steve Jobs figure that dances to your music. It also features an iPod dancer mode, in which Steve’s iPod-wearing silhouette takes the stage, swinging its arms, legs, and earbud cord.
