Ex-Apple CFO cashes in on stock sale

Apple’s ex-CFO Fred Anderson, who retired June 1st, has made a bundle on his recent sale of Apple stock. “From June 2 to June 6, Anderson exercised options to buy 500,000 Apple shares for $17.31 each, according to Thomson Financial,” notes Merecury News. “He sold those shares over the same days for prices ranging from $29 to $29.95 each, for a gain of $5.9 million.” Anderson joined Apple’s Board of Directors on June 8th.

Fred Anderson joins Apple Board

Apple today announced that Fred D. Anderson, the company’s former executive vice president and CFO, has been elected to Apple’s Board of Directors. Anderson retired on June 1 and was succeeded by Peter Oppenheimer as chief financial officer. “Fred is widely regarded as one of the industry’s leading financial experts and we want his guidance and judgment to continue benefiting Apple’s shareholders,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.
