‘Apple good, PC bad’ in movies and TV

In his latest column for the Chicago Sun-Times, Roger Ebert tackles the question of why Macs seem to always be used by the “good guys” in films and television shows, while the “bad guys” use PCs. “Since many Windows machines look alike, Apple is one of the few manufacturers that can gain by product placement, which accounts for some of the Macs,” writes Ebert. “It’s true that the movie industry and creative types in general prefer the Mac.

Roger Ebert makes a Windows jab

MacMinute reader Dan Welch pointed out to us that in Roger Ebert’s new review of the film Final Destination 2 in the Chicago Sun-Times, he takes a little jab at Windows computers when one of the characters brings home a new iMac. It is about halfway through the review and it is quite funny.
