AOL: “You’ve Got Voicemail”

America Online today announced the launch of AOL Voicemail, a new premium service that enables AOL members to listen to their home voice messages online and their AOL e-mails over the telephone, so that “all their messages can be accessed together at any time, in one place, from any phone or computer.” AOL Voicemail is available to AOL members for US$5.95 per month and works with AOL for Mac OS X or AOL for the Macintosh 5.0.

AIM and ICQ to communicate

America Online will allow its next version of AOL Instant Messenger to communicate with ICQ, a surprise move that will connect the company’s two popular instant messaging services, reports c|net. “We’re implementing the test in response to the growth of AOL in Europe, ICQ’s leadership in Europe, and some consumer feedback from AOL members who wanted the ability to exchange instant messages with ICQ members,” said AOL spokeswoman Anne Bentley.
