EarthLink loss narrows as sales increase

EarthLink, the third largest Internet Service Provider and Apple’s ISP partner in the U.S., today reported a fourth-quarter loss of US$73.9 million, compared to a loss of $105.5 million in the year-ago quarter. Excluding one-time charges, the company posted a loss of $19.5 million, compared to $52.2 million. Revenues rose 14 percent to $372.2 million. EarthLink ended the year with 4.2 million dial-up subscribers and 256,000 broadband subscribers.
