AOL Instant Messeneger security hole plagues Windows users

MacMinute has learned that a security hole in AOL Time Warner’s Instant Messenger, which can let a hacker take full control of a victim’s computer, only affects Windows-based PCs and not those using Macintosh computers or Palm devices. The hole is a “buffer overflow,” like the problem recently found in Microsoft’s Windows XP.
