1Password for Mac OS X adds Chrome support

Agile Web Solutions has updated 1Password (http://1password.com), a password manager for Mac OS X, to version 3.5. The upgrade support for Google’s Chrome web browser.

The 1Password extension for Chrome now features a revamped user interface and more fluid browser integration, as well as web login, credit card and identity form-filling features within Chrome. There are also other general fixes and improvements.

Gartner: Apple now world’s fourth largest phone maker

According to new info from the Gartner research group (http://www.gartner.com) Apple has overtaken Research in Motion to become the world’s fourth largest manufacturer of smartphones and cell phones.

On the downside, Gartner says sales of Google Android devices by Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Sony and others were greater than that of the iPhone. During the third quarter, Apple had 16.7% of the worldwide smartphone market compared to 25.5% for Android devices, 36.6% for Symbia devices, 14.8% for RIM and 2.8% for Windows Mobile.

Apple is e-reader manufacturer most likely to impact publishing market

Publisher members of the Audit Bureau of Circulations and ABC Interactive are implementing plans for harnessing the mobile market’s potential and focusing on strategies that increase revenue from the distribution channel. And they’ve found that Apple currently leads the pack of manufacturers offering e-reader and tablet devices, but some concerns may drive publishers to other devices.
