Online on on-site backup? Most SMBs prefer both

When it comes to the critical task of backing up data, nearly half of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in the US say using both on-site and online solutions are important and necessary, according to a new survey by Clutch, a B2B research firm. In fact, many SMBs steadfastly hold to on-site backup, with 42% of those surveyed reporting that it’s more important than online backup.

BookMacster, Synkmark, Markster 2.2 now make bookmarks secure and clean

Sheep Systems (www.sheepsystems.com) has published version 2.2 of its bookmarks management applications: BookMacster, Synkmark and Markster.

Version 2.2 adds three new features for power users to maintain their bookmarks, including Upgrade Insecure Bookmarks, Remove URL Cruft, and Find/Replace Text. Also, this version will be needed for users to continue syncing with Firefox 47, which Mozilla has slated to roll out on June 7.

Intel reveals security risks associated with unsafe online searches

Intel Security has released findings from its new study, “Online Security Diet: You Are What You Click,” which examines the online behaviors and attitudes of Americans ages 21 to 54 toward dieting clickbait. The research revealed that when it comes to the desire for the ideal body, people may be willing to sacrifice their online security if it takes them a step closer to achieving desired results.

Adobe Launches Spark visual storytelling apps

Adobe has served up Adobe Spark, an integrated web and mobile solution for creating and sharing visual stories. The free service — part of Creative Cloud — lets you create visual content that engages audiences across multiple channels and looks great on any device, says Bryan Lamkin, executive vice president and general manager, Digital Media at Adobe.
