Macworld AI is going to be the prevailing theme at WWDC26 on June 8, and a new report provides a sneak peek at the new AI-based Siri. But while Siri is certainly the star, the report also provides details on iOS 27’s new Camera app as well. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Camera app is getting the Siri treatment and will replace the current Visual Intelligence implementation, which is currently a separate action triggered by the Camera Control button. Within the Camera app, users will be able to select between “Photo,” “Siri,” and “Video,” and the Siri option uses an AI agent to analyze the picture you shot, or you can submit your photo in a Google reverse image search. Gurman said that this new implementation is an attempt to “increase adoption and help acclimate users to visual AI” ahead of Apple’s upcoming AirPods with cameras and rumored smart glasses. Users who make as much use of the Camera app as they can will appreciate the new ability to customize the UI. As previously reported, the Camera app will now support Widgets with a new panel to let users swap out the default controls for more detailed settings used by professional photographers. Widgets include controls such as depth of field, timers, and photographic modes such as Night mode. The Camera app in iOS 27 will allow for quicker access to deeper controls that more experienced photographers use.Bloomberg The Photos app is getting an AI boost, as well. As previously reported, a new Reframe feature will change the perspective of a shot, while Extend can be used to generate AI portions within an existing image. For example, Extend can, say, fill in part of a building that was not in the original shot. Apple is expected to provide a full preview of iOS 27 at WWDC on June 8. Macworld Sometimes, you need to turn a piece of paper into a digital file. Maybe you need to include a receipt, registration, or other form of proof in an online form. Maybe you want to keep copies of your important documents in the cloud, so they’re always accessible and safe from being lost or destroyed. Such documents are often digitized as PDF files. It used to be that you needed to use either dedicated hardware or a third-party app to take a photo of a document and convert it to PDF. That is no longer the case: Apple includes a very handy document scanner in the iPhone’s Notes and Files apps, and it does a surprisingly good job. Because it’s not very obvious, you’d be forgiven for not even knowing it exists. Here’s how you scan documents using an iPhone. We also cover how to convert the scan into a PDF and how to autofill the PDF on an iPhone. We also have a round up of the best free PDF editors for Mac and explain How to edit a PDF on a Mac. You may also be interested How to create a PDF on an iPhone. Want to try something other than Preview? Take a look at our Best PDF Editor for Mac round-up. 1. How to scan a document on iPhone using Notes Foundry Open the Notes app. Create a new Note or select an existing one. Tap the paperclip icon and select Scan Documents. Hold your iPhone over your document until it is highlighted. Try to get it as level and square as possible. Either hold your iPhone still until the scan captures automatically or press the shutter. Depending on whether you are happy or not choose Retake or Keep. Unhappy with the scan? There are two modes: if you use Auto (a small “A” appears on the Shutter option above the shutter button), Notes captures a page whenever it detects a document. Most of the time the results are pretty accurate, but if they aren’t good enough you can switch to Manual by tapping the Shutter option. Your iPhone will take irregular rectangles and attempt to straighten them out. Continue scanning until all pages are captured, then tap the checkmark in the upper right. Notes will attempt to extract some text at the top of the document to use as its title.02:28 pmApple TV unveils return of hit detective series with Colin Farrell
