Apple has made their latest advertisement available for viewing online for their latest product release — the sleek new iBook. For those of you who may have missed it on television, here is your chance to see it.

Apple’s press event in McLean, Virginia is underway and a number of reporters are on the scene. Among them are the folks at MacCentral.com. Apple is selling a whole host of products at their store, including video cameras, digital cameras, printers and scanners, PDA’s, and more. In addition, Apple has announced 14 retail outlets in total across the country.

The DowJones Newswire reported late yesterday that Apple is planning to take a US$10 million charge in the third quarter of this year for “in-process research and development costs related to its acquisition of PowerSchool, Inc.” (which will be accounted for as a purchase), — this according to the company’s quarterly report filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Roxio has announced that their spinoff from former parent company Adaptec is now complete. A conference call will be held on May 16 at 4:30 pm ET for a financial briefing — a live Webcast will be available from the Investors section of the Roxio site. Newstec, a newspaper-publishing trade show in the UK, takes place May 21-23 and Apple will be there showing off Mac OS X. On display will be ColorSync and OS X’s ability to run applications and workgroups over large networks.
