You know things are getting out of hand when a volunteer site that tracks hacked Web pages can no longer keep up. Attrition.org has announced they will stop tracking the defacement of Web pages because their staff of volunteer workers can no longer keep up with the hackers, reports ZDNet.

AOL has announced today that they will be raising rates to US$23.90 for their monthly unlimited-use plan — an additional $1.95 and the first increase since April 1998. The new rate goes into effect with their July billing cycle.

As first noted on MacInTouch, Microsoft has posted a macro security alert for RTF documents. The issue involves Rich Text Format documents linked to a template — they can cause macros to run without warning. Affected Macintosh applications are Word 98 and Word 2001. A patch is expected soon.
