Proteron has put together a page detailing how to record telephone conversations with your Mac using the company’s N2MP3 Pro software and some inexpensive hardware.

Formac has introduced a CD-RW/DVD combo drive that combines a 12x10x32x-speed CD-RW with a DVD-ROM drive, according to MacUser UK. The company also released a 24x10x40x CD-RW drive — the world’s fastest — which can burn CDs in under four minutes. Both drives are available exclusively with FireWire interfaces. Pricing and availability has not been announced.

Virtual PC 0006 Additions adds drag and drop, folder sharing, joystick support, DOS CD-ROM support, optimised video drivers, and more to Virtual PC 3.x or 4.x. Also, under Virtual PC 4.0.2, support for full-screen PowerBook G4 video resolutions (896×600 and 1152×768) is now provided.

MacPopUp 2.5b3 is the latest pre-release version of the proprietary instant messaging system for Mac and Windows networks. Version 2.5 brings OS X compatibility, AppleTalk support, and the ability to print messages, among other features.

Hitachi today introduced the DZ-MV100A, the world’s first DVD-RAM camcorder, which captures MPEG video or JPEG photos on an eight centimetre DVD disc. The camcorder can capture up to one hour of high-quality video, two hours of standard video, or nearly 2000 photos at a resolution of 1280×960.
