Adobe releases Acrobat for Palm

Adobe has released the final version of Acrobat Reader for Palm OS 3.1 or later. The file, however, is currently available only as a Windows application, requiring Mac users to either use Virtual PC or sync their Palm with a PC to download the software. A Mac specific version, as well as support for languages other than English, are expected in the future.

Apple has put together a feature discussing Dav Raunch’s experience with DVD Studio Pro Software, which he used to create DVDs for his company, The Orphanage. “There’s simply no reason to spend $50,000 on a system, or to rent time at an expensive facility, when you can do it yourself. DVD Studio Pro is cheaper by a huge factor. And it’s so easy to use.”

Microsoft readies 64-bit Windows

On the heels of Dell’s announcement that it would begin shipping servers based on Intel’s forthcoming Itanium in August, Microsoft has announced that it will be release at least two versions of Windows for the new, 64-bit processor. The Itanium offers several performance benefits over today’s 32-bit processors, such as the PowerPC G3/G4 and Pentium 3/4.
