Apple has rolled out the ninth developer betas of macOS High Sierra. The finished version is due this fall.

It can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center (https://idmsa.apple.com) or through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.

Maintain has served up Cocktail 10.4.3 (Sierra Edition), the latest maintenance update for users running macOS Sierra.

Cocktail is a general purpose utility for macOS that lets users clean, repair and optimize their Macs. Version 10.4.3 adds the ability to easily add menu extras (menulets) to the macOS menu bar. It also fixes compatibility issues with Little Snitch 4 and addresses an issue in which Cocktail may fail to disable virtual memory swapping.

Sonnet Technologies has introduced a new version of its FusionThunderbolt 3 PCIe Flash Drive (http://tinyurl.com/yadg8aac), a pocket-size solid-state drive (SSD) storage device with Thunderbolt 3 interface.

Equipped with 1TB of NVMe flash storage, the latest Fusion Thunderbolt 3 PCIe Flash Drive is compatible with both Mac and Windows computers. It leverages the 40Gb/s bandwidth of Thunderbolt 3 to deliver data transfer speeds up to 2600 MB/s.  

Feral Interactive has announced that XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, the expansion pack for the 2016 strategy game XCOM 2, is out available on the Mac.

Developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K for PC and consoles, XCOM 2: War of the Chosen adds new content to XCOM 2 and the fight against ADVENT, the human enforcers of the alien regime occupying Earth. When additional resistance factions emerge to eliminate the invaders, a sinister new enemy, the Chosen, arises.
