Iomega today announced that it will be closing its Roy, UT manufacturing plant and laying off 110 employees. The move is part of the company’s attempts to strengthen its financials in a weakened economy. Boeing today announced that it has partnered with American Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines to deliver high-speed Internet access to 1,500 planes starting in the second half of 2002. Passengers will be able to access the satellite-based service, which offers upstream speeds of up to 1 Mbps and downstream speeds of up to 5 Mbps, for about $20 an hour.
