Apple UK has launched promotion that gives iMac purchasers six months of interest free financing, similar to the US “Music to your ears” promotion, notes Macworld UK. UK customers, however, do not have the option of receiving a free Rio 600 in place of the financing deal. The offer expires July 31.

MacGeneration, an excellent French Mac site out of Lausanne, Switzerland, has conducted a poll showing that 70 percent of French speaking Mac users would like to have an Apple retail store in their region. Additionally, 18 percent said that they were happy with their existing Apple authorized reseller, while 5 percent responded that they were using the Web or mail order to make their Mac purchases.

Toren Valimir and ResExcellence are teaming up for a contest giving away three of Valimir’s scheme packages — I/OS X Special Edition. The package includes 5 Kaleidoscope schemes, as well as free updates and advance access to all his future schemes for life. The contest runs from June 18-23.

The Apple Store has a supply of refurbished 22″ Cinema Displays in stock for US$2,199. The displays come with a full 1-year warranty from Apple. Napster CEO Hank Barry discussed the copyright issues surrounding Napster and the entire peer-to-peer file swapping idea on Saturday, pointing out that Napster’s fee-based service that’s currently in the works will not clarify the very grey legal area surrounding copyright.
