Mac OS X 10.0.4 is now available through the Software Update control panel. As noted by MacCentral, the update delivers a number of improvements for USB devices, improved battery life for many PowerBook G3s; Classic compatibility improvements, updates to OpenSSH, and support for Apple’s 17″ Studio Display.

Adobe has posted new print drivers for use with PressReady, notes VersionTracker. Drivers for the Epson Stylus Color 3000, Photo 1270, Photo 870, Pro 5000, and HP DeskJet 1220C are now available.

Belkin today expanded its line of PDA accessories with of the US$79.99 universal PDA Keyboard for Palm III/V/VII/m100 PDAs and the $34.99 Folding Hot Sync Cradle for Handspring Visors. The company also released a universal Neoprene case ($24.99), m100 Neoprene case ($19.99), and a $24.99 leather case.

At PCExpo next week, Keyspan will debut its new USB mini hub, a four-port portable hub that’s the size of a credit card and only a centimeter thick. The product includes a built-in cable, will be available in silver or black, and sell for US$49. (Site not updated)

The 16th annual MacHack kicked off today at midnight CDT in Dearborn, MI. The conference, which runs for 72 consecutive hours, challenges software developers to program the most interesting piece of software — or hack to another piece of software — that they can during that time. MacHack also provides a forum for attendees to gather and chat, as well offering multiple keynotes from prominent members of the development community.
