Micromat has released an update to their disk utility program, TechTool Pro. Changes include support for OS X (must be booted from system 9), updated Virus database to find Simpson Virus/Worm, added over 100 new items to the Conflict database, and enhanced drive repair routines.

MacMinute reader Daniel Jardine noticed that Wacom has updated its Mac OS X compatibility statement, admitting that beta drivers for OS X will not be ready by the end of June, as was indicated back in April. Wacom won’t state when drivers will be available, either.

McAfee has posted the July definitions for Virex. The new definitions can also be downloaded directly from the application’s update feature.

Apple has posted QuickTime 5.0.2, as noted by VersionTracker, although it’s unknown what changes have been made with the new version.

In a 7-0 ruling today, a federal appeals court reversed the breakup of Microsoft, citing “serious judicial misconduct” by US District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson, who originally handed the ruling. The appeals court said Jackson made inappropriate comments to the media that gave the impression he was biased against Microsoft. The appeals court did uphold the conclusion that Microsoft violated antitrust laws, but ordered that a new judge decide what the penalties should be.
