Apple has released two security updates for Mac OS X Yosemite.


What do they do? Hard to say. Apple’s notes only say that they’re “recommended for all users and improves the security of OS X,”

Twocanoes Software (www.twocanoes.com) has rolled out Winclone 5, a new version of the Boot Camp cloning and migration solution for the Mac.

Winclone is designed to help everyone who uses dual boot Macs with Boot Camp more easily create snapshots, clone partitions or migrate Boot Camp systems and more. New in Winclone 5 is Winclone Backup, a utility for backing up mission-critical Boot Camp user files and a new consumer edition, Winclone Basic for no-frills Boot Camp backup.

Ergonis Software (www.ergonis.com) has annnounced Typinator 6.5, a new version of their text expander for Mac OS X.

The new version adds a helpful new feature that lets you define the way how the system-wide “smart substitutions” settings for quotes, dashes, etc. are handled within Typinator. French speaking Typinator users will be glad to hear that Typinator now also accepts French quoting style (with double angle quotation marks and non-breaking spaces) in the marker for nested abbreviations.

Searchware Solutions has announced Print Window 5.2, an update to their window printing utility for Mac OS X.

Integrated with the Mac OS X Finder, it allows users to print a file listing of folders with a simple key command (or other methods of triggering a file listing). In addition to adding full Mac OS X Yosemite support, version 5.2 adds the ability to export File Listings as a CSV file and sports an updated application icon.
