Media 100 today announced that Cleaner 5 for Mac OS X will be ready in early 2002; the company is offering a demo of software at Macworld Expo (booth #2303). Media 100 also announced Cleaner 5.1, which will ship later this summer with Sorenson Video 3 support, as well as RealSystem 8.5 and Windows Media 8. The update will be a free download to Cleaner 5 customers; Cleaner 5 is available for US$599.

EarthLink has released EarthLink Internet Access 2.5 for Mac OS X, which features “an audio guide that walks Mac users through the installation process, and allows them to retrieve their existing EarthLink account or create a new account.” The software will be pre-loaded on all new Macs and is also available on CD.

Dialpad today announced Mac OS X support for its Dialpad World IP telephony service, marking the first Mac-to-phone solution on the market. With Dialpad, users can call anywhere in the world through their Macs for significantly reduced rates, such five cents per minute to Hong Kong, France, or the UK. The client software is available for download immediately.
