Addonics today introduced its USB 2.0 host controller, a PCI card that adds four external and one internal USB 2.0 port. The card is available for US$59; drivers are included for Mac OS and Mac OS X.

AOL Music today announced two new services: Artist Discovery Network, which features content and artist information from major and independent record companies, and Radio@AOL, which will be launched this fall with AOL 7.0 and will offer users access to more than 50 Internet radio stations. AOL Music will also be launching MusicNet this fall, a subscription-based music sharing service.

Lexmark this morning announced a second quarter profit of US$87.1 million on revenues of $988 million, an 11 percent year-over-year increase. Lexmark, the number two US computer printer maker, scaled back its forecasts for the third and fourth quarters, however, citing the lagging economy and lull in sales of computers and peripherals. Apple is currently running a promotion that offers a free Lexmark Z32 with any Mac purchase.

Apple has updated its Macworld Expo New York coverage with several new videos and articles from the show, including a “10 for X” feature on applications featured during the keynote.

Apple has posted Senior VP of Hardware Jon Rubinstein’s 8-minute Macworld Expo keynote presentation on the “Megahertz Myth.” While uncommonly technical for a part of a keynote presentation, the feature details why there’s more to a computer’s performance than the clock speed of its processor.
