Sony today reported a first quarter profit of US$26.3 million, falling far short of the consensus estimate of around $200 million. Sony blamed the current state of the worldwide economy for its lackluster results, as revenues for the quarter came in at $13.23 billion.

The ResExcellence Web site has posted a REALbasic tutorial today demonstrating how to change the look of iTunes.

Fidelity Media has released MegaSeg DJ 2.0.2. This maintenance release fixes bugs as well as adds a few new features, including an AutoSeg Trim setting when a song does not have a custom end time. MegaSeg is currently bundled with the Griffin USB audio adapter through the end of July for US$149. An updated demo is also available.

We mentioned this yesterday, but IDG World Expo and Apple have now officially announced the attendance numbers for Macworld Expo in New York City last week. Over 64,000 people attended the event at the Jacob Javits Center – the highest number to date for the show. According to the press release, Macworld has now surpassed both PC Expo and Internet World as the largest annual technology event in New York City.
