Intel Developer Forum to be full of FireWire

Intel’s upcoming Developer Forum on August 27 will showcase “a ton of 1394 [FireWire]” products, according to Anand Chandrasekher, Intel’s vice-president of microprocessor marketing. Canon announces new USB film scanner

Canon has introduced the CanoScan FS2720U, a high-speed USB scanner for 35mm and APS films. The scanners offers 36-bit scanning at a maximum scanning speed of 13/10 seconds per frame (35mm/APS), a 2,720 dpi optical resolution, 12-bit RGB input and output, and the ability to accept slides or negatives, color or black-and-white in either the 35mm or APS formats. The FS2720U will ship in September for US$599, bundled with Adobe Photoshop 5.0 LE.
