Songistix today introduced the Monsoon MH-505 speaker system, a surround sound version of its entry level speakers. The MH-505 features four flat-panel satellite speakers with 2.5-inch mid-range cones, a bandpass subwoofer, and a new control for adjusting master and bass volume, rear-front fader, and mute, as well as a headphone jack. The system sells for US$179.

Microsoft will be revising its mouse offerings in October and November, according to MacUser UK. The company plans to deliver a wireless version of its IntelliMouse Explorer, while offering updated versions of the Wireless Wheel Mouse, IntelliMouse Optical, and Wheel Mouse Optical.

TinkerTool 1.5 is a free utility for altering the appearance and functionality of Mac OS X, including placing the trash on the desktop, setting the dock’s position, and making the terminal window transparent. The new version revises the Italian language pack and updates the FAQ; no new features have been added.

Apple and Adobe will be among the companies exhibiting the MacFest Roadshow in the UK, according to Macworld UK. The Roadshow will be traveling to Leeds on September 4 and Birmingham on September 6. Apple will be showing off its latest hardware and offering seminars on DVD Studio Pro and Final Cut Pro, while Adobe will present seminars on its many of its applications.

Caught in somewhat of a catch-22, shares of Excite@home are trading down nearly 50 percent this morning. A Merrill Lynch report stated that the company risks being delisted from the Nasdaq since its share price is below a dollar. The delisting, the report says, would cost Excite@home nearly US$100 million, effectively wiping out the company’s cash reserves and force bankruptcy.
