The Mac Show, an Internet-based live radio show focusing on all things Mac, has announced their guest lineup for tonight’s broadcast (9:00-11:00 pm ET). Tonight’s guests include Laura Doyle, a Vancouver-based singer who used Macs to self publish her own CD; Steve Mielnicki, Senior Macintosh Systems Analyst for the University of Pittsburgh’s Computing Services Department; and Bill Roper of Blizzard. Also featured tonight will be the ever-popular “What’s My Product?” game.

Apple has posted Mac OS 9.2.1, which is available for all Mac OS 9.1 and 9.2 users. The new versions improves Classic compatibility and offers other minor improvements. [Updated (17:55) – The update is compatible with Mac OS 9.1 as well, not just Mac OS 9.2 as noted previously.]

Blizzard has posted version 1.09 updates for Diablo II and Diablo II: Lords of Destruction. The Diablo II update corrects a handful of bugs, while the Lords of Destruction update includes dozens of bug fixes and minor gameplay changes, which are detailed here.

A Chicago Sun-Times article, as noted by MacSurfer, discusses the imminent opening of Apple’s fifth retail store this weekend, at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois, as well as the two other store openings planned for the Chicago-area later this year. The article includes commentary from Ron Johnson, Apple’s senior vice president of retailing, on the retail stores as a whole.

Apple has launched a new promotion in Europe that offers customers substantial rebates on select peripherals when purchased alongside a new iBook or CD-RW iMac. Qualifying peripherals include: Lexmark Z22, Z23e, Z43, Z53, or X73 printers; Canon MV400i, MV430i or MV450i DV camcorders; SONICblue Rio 600 or 600SE MP3 players; and Kodak EasyShare3500 or EasyShare3600 digital cameras. Rebates vary depending upon the peripheral purchase.
