Elite Computers & Software, an Apple specialist whose store is right across the street from Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, CA, today announced that it has purchased the rights to the name ComputerWare, the San Francisco Bay Area reseller that closed all ten of its stores earlier this year. “I’m quite sure we can put the name ComputerWare to good use in the near future,” said Thomas Armes, President and CEO of Elite Computers.

Dantz today released an extensions update for Retrospect 4.3 that adds support for Apple’s CD-RW drives (Power Mac G4, iBook, and iMac systems) to its backup software.

4D Inc. has released 4D Server 6.7.5, its first Mac OS X offering of the database software. The software can run on both Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server, and is provided as a free update to 4D 6.7 customers.
