Unmarked Software has posted textSOAP 3.0.4 — an update to the company’s Internet text cleaning utility. The latest revision to this software offers bug fixes and minor changes to the software. textSOAP 3 is available for US$19.95 ($9.95 upgrade for existing users).

In a recent IGN interview with Tony Hawk, as noted by MacNN, the renowned skater offers a nice plug for Apple. “I have my Titanium PowerBook and that’s what I’m doing everything on. Watching DVDs, listening to music, playing games. Pro Skater 2 is available for Mac now, so I’ve got that on there. I do emails, editing videos, you name it I can do pretty much everything on my G4.”

Quark has released a beta of QuarkXPress 5.0, as noted by VersionTracker, although its servers are currently overloaded. The beta is currently available for Mac OS 8/9; a Mac OS X version of Quark is expected shortly after the product ships.

Apple today opened the doors to its retail store at the Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio, marking its seventh retail location. The next store to open will be in Tampa, Florida, at the International Plaza on September 14.

Palm has quietly cut the price of its m500 handheld to US$329, a $70 drop, notes c|net. The price cut comes less than two weeks after rival Handspring cut the price of its competing Edge handheld to $299. Analysts have said that the monochrome m500 has been lagging far behind its color counterpart, the m505, which sells for $449.
