Bare Bones updates Super Get Info

Bare Bones Software has released Super Get Info 1.0.2, an update to its Mac OS X utility that offers more features than the operating system’s “Show Info” command. The new version adds “Empty Trash” command, which allows users toempty the Trash even when the Finder claims you do not have sufficientprivileges to do so, provides compatibility with NFS servers, improvements when dealing with items on locked volumes, and several minor bug fixes. Super Get Info sells for US$20; a fully functional 14-day demo is available.

Quark cancels MacExpo plans

Quark has pulled out from MacExpo, the UK show that takes place November 22-24, according to Macworld UK. The company cited adverse economic conditions as the reason for withdrawing. “We regret that Quark won’t be able to attend MacExpo. We have every faith in the event, and wish for a very successful show,” a Quark spokesperson told Macworld UK. The company added that its commitment to the Mac market remains “firm.”
