Apple Expo cancelled in wake of attacks

Apple has cancelled Apple Expo, the Mac show that was scheduled to take place in Paris, France, from September 26-30 in light of the terrorist attacks that took place in the US last week. “We’re sorry to disappoint our users and developers, but their safety is our primary concern,” said Apple CEO Steve Jobs. Seybold Seminars San Francisco, however, will take place as planned from September 24-28.

Tennessee store set to open September 29

Several readers note that according to a graphic on Apple’s Hot News page, the Germantown, Tennessee Apple Store is set to open on September 29, although Apple’s retail store page does not reflect that. MacMinute reader Michael Sloan adds, “I drove by Saddle Creek today and they don’t have a sign up yet, but I can tell that they have made progress on the front of the store.”
