Adobe announces Illustrator 10, InDesign 2 with native OS X support

Adobe has officially taken the wraps off Illustrator 10 and InDesign 2, major upgrades to its illustration and layout/design software. Illustrator 10 packs a number of new features, including vector and raster-based slicing; liquify tools, enveloping, and warping; four new drawing tools for lines, arcs, grids, and polar grids; and compound-path compatibility, allowing users to cut and paste compounds between Photoshop and Illustrator.

Adobe preps product announcements at Seybold

Adobe will officially announce Illustrator 10 and InDesign 2.0 later today at Seybold Seminars in San Francisco, California. Mac OS X plans for the two titles are as of yet unknown, although Adobe will ship Illustrator 10 before the year is out and plans to ship InDesign 2.0 in early 2002. At Macworld Expo New York in July, Adobe demonstrated early versions of both applications running under Mac OS X.

Microsoft IntelliPoint driver 2.0 posted

VersionTracker notes that Microsoft has posted version 2.0 of their IntelliPoint driver for the Mac. Changes in this release are unspecified at this time, but the driver will work with both the IntelliMouse Explorer and the Optical versions of Microsoft’s input device.
