MacMinute covered Apple VP Phil Schiller’s Seybold keynote this morning, which included a special appearance by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, the introduction of Mac OS X 10.1, and other announcements.

Corel today announced KPT effects, a collection of nine Adobe Photoshop plug-ins. The plug-ins include Pyramid Paint, Lighting, Fluid, Hyper Tiling, Scatter, Channel Surfing, Ink Dropper, FraxFlame II, and Gradient Lab. The software is the second title launched under the company’s procreate label, and is optimized for Mac OS X. KPT effects will ship in October for US$199. German and French versions will ship in November.

Ricoh is demonstrating a number of its top-tier digital color products at Seybold, including the new AP3800C, which it bills as the first true networkable color and black & white laser printer. The AP3800C can print at 28 pages per minute in color and 36ppm in black & white at resolutions of 1200x1200dpi at paper sizes up to 12″x18″.

With Mac OS X 10.1 expected to ship at week’s end, ZDNet is reporting that Apple has already begun work on Mac OS X 10.2, code-named Jaguar, and Mac OS X Server 10.1, code-named Tigger. Sources also tell ZDNet that Apple will release a few small updates between Mac OS X 10.1 and 10.2, tying up small loose ends and any bugs that crop up.

Microsoft today announced a wireless version of its IntelliMouse Explorer optical mouse, as well as new versions of the corded IntelliMouse Explorer and IntelliMouse Optical.
