NVIDIA boosts GeForce 3

NVIDIA has introduced the GeForce Titanium Series, a new line of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) that deliver improved performance over existing GeForce2 and GeForce3 product lines. The GeForce3 Titanium 500 features a core clock rate of 240 MHz and memory at 500 MHz DDR, compared to a core of 200 MHz and memory of 460 MHz on the original GeForce3. The new GeForce3 Titanium 200 and GeForce2 Titanium feature similarly improved performance over their existing counterparts.

Compaq warns, outlook dim

Compaq yesterday warned that revenue will fall short some US$1 billion for the quarter and that the company expects to post a loss of five to seven cents per share. Analysts had been expecting a profit of about five cents per share. Meanwhile, HP, which is acquiring Compaq, warned yesterday that it may cut more jobs this year, after already cutting nearly 7,000 positions.
