Apple’s WWDC kicks off June 8 at San Francisco’s Moscone West

Apple will hold its 26th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) June 8 through June 12 at San Francisco’s Moscone West, with more sessions than ever before streamed to developers.

WWDC will feature more than 100 technical sessions, over 1,000 Apple engineers, hands-on labs to help developers integrate new technologies and fine tune their apps, as well as the Apple Design Awards which showcase the best new apps in the last year.

Absolute adds third-party patching capabilities

Absolute Software Corp. has added third-party patching capabilities for software applications with the release of Absolute Manage 6.8.

IT administrators can manage operating system patches for Mac and Windows devices, along with a wide range of third-party applications in a fully automated system that detects and downloads missing patches. Once each update receives administrator approval, Absolute Manage deploys and reports on the status of each patch.

Troi Serial Plug-in upgraded to version 3.2

Troi Automatisering has announced Troi Serial Plug-in 3.2 for FileMaker Pro 12 and 13. The tool gives FileMaker Pro access to external devices with a serial interface:

The new version (3.2.0.1) contains updated example files in the .fmp12 format for FileMaker 12 and 13. Variables are used to make the scripts more portable. Troi Serial Plug-in itself is still at version 3
