Apple today released iPhoto, its latest digital hub application designed for saving, organizing, editing, and sharing digital photos. Other features include a streamlined printing interface for maximizing the quality of prints, one-step publishing of online photo albums, and integrated one-click shopping for ordering prints or a professionally crafted photo album.

Extensis today announced the upcoming release of Portfolio 6, a major upgrade to its Digital Asset Management solution.

eZedia Inc. has announced the release of eZediaMX 3.0, a new version of its multimedia authoring software for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. eZediaMX 3.0 allows users of all skill levels to combine and edit digital media, including video, graphics, animation, sound, MP3s, VRs and text. eZediaMX 3.0 is available now for US$239; upgrades are available for $99.

Bare Bones Software is offering BBEdit for US$84 this week—a $35 discount—as part of its “Not-at-the-Show” special offer. The upgrade is priced at $44. Both offers include a free limited edition BBEdit T-shirt.

Apple’s traditional iMac continues to be available from the Apple Store in three configurations: 500MHz/CD-ROM in Indigo for $799, and 600MHz/CD-RW in Graphite or Snow for $999. It’s unclear whether Apple will continue to offer the models to keep the iMac entry level price lower than $1,299, or whether they’ll only offer the models while supply exists.
