A number of updates have been released for popular applications: Eudora 5.1b20, the latest beta version of the Mac OS X version of its email client; textSOAP 3.1.5, a maintenance update to the text formatting/cleaning utility; iGetter 1.7, which adds several new features and fixes to the download management utility; and MegaSeg 2.1b3, a new beta of the Mac OS X version of the MP3 DJ software.

Stomp, Inc. has released Click ‘N Design 3D — Macintosh Edition, its software for creating custom labels for CDs, DVDs, CD business cards, mini CDs, zip disks, VHS, cassettes, 3.5-inch diskettes and jewel case inserts under Mac OS 8/9 and Mac OS X. Features include 3D text, an easy start label wizard, dynamic circular text editing, multiple options for graphic effects, and over 5,000 background clip art images.

Media conglomerate AOL Time Warner this morning reported a fourth-quarter loss of US$1.8 billion, or 41 cents per share, due primarily to a $1.7 billion write-down in some investments. Excluding such one-time charges, earnings for the quarter came in at 33 cents per share, while revenues grew 4 percent from the year-ago quarter to $10.6 billion. The results were in line with lowered expectations.

LaCie has reportedly cut prices across the board on its products in the UK. Macworld UK has details on the new prices. It’s unclear whether LaCie products in other regions will also see price reductions.
