Your Mac Life, an Internet-based Mac radio show, has announced their lineup for tonight’s broadcast (21:00 – 23:00 ET). Blue World Communications today released Lasso Professional 5, its popular tool for building and serving data-driven Web sites, in Standard and Developer editions for Mac OS X. New to Lasso Professional 5 is a next-generation object-oriented Web programming language, advanced Web application server administration and security, an embedded Lasso MySQL database server, a new distributed architecture, and over 200 other new features and enhancements.

Louise Kehoe of The Financial Times has written an interesting analysis comparing Hewlett-Packard’s current predicament with its proposed acquisition of Compaq to the corporate wrangling at Apple in the mid-80’s that led to the ousting of Steve Jobs.

Apple is “actively considering” opening its own retail stores in India, according to a Financial Express article that quotes Parminder Singh, an Apple Marketing Manager, as noted by MacSurfer. Singh made the remarks alongisde the roll-out of the new iMac in India today. “Presence in [the] retail arena makes sense now as we’ve a fairly strong desktop portfolio with the induction of three new iMacs, in addition to the existing two iMacs,” Singh said.
