What’s in store for the PC

C|net takes a look at what changes might be made to the PC in the coming years, as Intel explains its vision at its Developer Forum. Among the items set to take hold next year are more compact and stylish case designs, as well built-in wireless networking — features that Macs have touted for years. From the more technical standpoint, Intel expects 8x AGP slots, USB 2.0, and serial-ATA hard drives will be standard by the second-half of 2003.

Casio introduces rugged digital camera

Casio announced the GV-10 earlier this week, a 1.23 megapixel digital camera designed to withstand water, dust, dirt, and drops. The GV-10 complies with IEC standards for water resistance, meaning that water will not enter the camera when it is submerged in 1m of water for 30 minutes, as well as dust resistance. The DV-10 also features a 2x digital zoom and 8MB CompactFlash card, and will ship in March for US$349.99.
