51% of U.S. pay-TV subscribers interested in unlimited DVR storage

New data from Parks Associates (www.parksassociates.com) finds that 51% of pay-TV subscribers are very interested in having unlimited space to store DVR recordings, which indicates strong consumer demand for cloud-based DVR services.

Currently, over 50% of U.S. broadband homes either include a DVR as part of their pay-TV subscription or have purchased one at retail. The research firm estimates the total number of cloud DVR subscribers in the U.S. will exceed 4.6 million by the end of 2015 and total 24 million by 2018.

With BatchOutput PDF, users only need to drop PDFs into hot folders and the files will be printed automatically using the assigned output preset, saving users the time and effort of printing the files manually. The new version adds an option to process files under workflows where PDF files initially arrive to hot folders with an alternative file extension.

Apple Music will pass on more than 70% of subscription payments to music owners

Robert Kondrk, the Apple executive who negotiates music deals along with media boss Eddy Cue, says that, in the U.S., Apple will pay music owners 71.5% of Apple Music’s subscription revenue. The average among other streaming services is around 70%.

Outside the U.S., the number will fluctuate, but will average around 73%, he told Re/code (http://on.recode.net/1Bi1T0O). The article says these totals include payments to the people who own the sound recordings Apple Music will play, as well as the people who own the publishing rights to songs’ underlying compositions.
